Product Details

A classic Victorian variety with opulent, velvet crimson-scarlet flowers and green foliage. The unusual leaf colour makes it an interesting plant even before it begins to bloom. It is very easy to grow and perfect for pots, tubs, window boxes or filling borders. Edible flowers and leaves are also attractive to butterflies and bees.

Sow direct, where they are to flower from March until May, or after last frost. Sow seeds into finely raked compost to a depth of 1cm and space out by approximately 25cm. Alternatively start seeds indoors from February allowing 3 to 4 seeds per 7.5cm pot. Plants can be transplanted into patio containers or baskets from May when large enough to handle. Green foliage will fill borders and containers for most of the year, with blooms from July to October.

Water regularly until plants are fully established.

Growing nasturtiums is easy and once established, they require little attention.

Remove spent flowers to encourage further blooms throughout the season.
