The SmartRake is constructed from a combination of wood and heavy-duty plastic:
The handle is made from solid wood (typically a smooth, treated pine or similar hardwood). It is notably long at 165 cm, designed to reduce back strain during use.
The head is constructed from a high-grade plastic (polypropylene). The head is extra-wide (roughly 63 cm) and features 24 to 26 strong but flexible tines.
The tines are molded as part of the plastic head. They are designed to be flexible enough to glide over the grass without damaging the turf, but stiff enough to pull out moss and thatch.
