Common name: Holly Olive, False Holly, Holly Tea Olive
A dense rounded shrub with holly-like, glossy, dark green leaves, blackish purple when young and clusters of fragrant tubular white flowers.
It likes sun or part shade, well drained soil and is happy in acid (ericaceous), alkaline or neutral soil. It is frost hardy.
