Product Details

A beautiful mixture of traditional Shirley poppies, in pink, red and white shades along with distinctive Danish Flag variety with white and red spiked petals. Poppies have always been a favourite in English gardens, with their silky ruffled blooms, which flutter in the wind. Easy to grow varieties, which will produce blooms throughout the summer.

Poppy seeds can be sown directly outdoors where they are to flower from March or after last frost. Sow seeds into finely raked, warm, moist soil to a depth of 1cm and cover lightly. As poppy seeds are so tiny, you may want to thin out seedlings when they are large enough to handle, spacing approximately 20cm apart. Alternatively autumn sowings in September will produce flowers from April the following year.

Easy to grow, opt for a sunny spot in the garden with protection from strong winds.

Deadhead faded poppy flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.

Cut back old foliage to ground level in autumn.
