Product Details

Lovely soft looking blooms in a mixture of white, pink, rose-red, mauve and purple shades. Pretty, delicate foliage, and flowers that look great in beds borders and containers. Nigella also makes a fantastic cut flower. Blooms appear from July and are followed by ornamental seedpods.

Sow seeds indoors from February to April on the surface of a good seed compost, and lightly cover with a little compost and cover with propagator lid. Alternatively create humidity by placing seed tray in plastic bag and keep in a warm environment between 20 - 25°C. Germination can take up to 3 weeks, when seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into larger 7cm pots and grow on in cooler conditions. In May when all risk of frost has gone, transplant outdoors where the plants are to flower, acclimatise by placing outside during the day for 1 week. Plants will begin to bloom from July to September.

Remove spent flowers regularly to encourage further blooms throughout the summer.
