Salvia farinacea 'Strata'
Common name: Sage, Mealy sage
This half-hardy perennial makes an interting specimen or dot plant. It also works well in the cottage garden setting. Plant 20-25cm (8-10in) apart in rich well-drained soil in full sun for best results.
Height 30-38cm (12-15in).
Planting out: Prepare the planting area and work in any necessary compost and fertiliser. Water plants before planting and afterwards if the soil is dry. Remove plants by pushing through from underside of the pack. Remove dead flowers and feed plants in containers regularly for a season full of colour.
