At Longacres we can create any bridal bouquet to suit the theme of your very special day. Choosing the flowers, style and texture for the bridal bouquet is probably the most important decision to make, as the rest of your theme will stem from this choice. There are many styles to choose from, but the most popular are shower bouquets and hand-tied posies.
Shower bouquets are a favourite amongst brides as their cascading and trailing tear drop shape is designed to gently frame the bride and her dress. Shower bouquets are ideal for a fuller traditional dresses with a large skirt. Even though this style is regarded as a formal, traditional style, it can be made to look classic or contemporary depending on the types of flowers used. Flowers that look great in a shower bouquet are Amaranthus, Delphiniums, Lisianthus, Singapore Orchids and Jasmine as these flowers give a great trailing effect. You can also use popular flowers such as Peonies, Roses, Lilies or Freesias in your bouquet as well. Shower bouquets start from £75, depending on the flowers used and size.
Hand-tied posy bouquets are without doubt the most popular style for brides, and can suit any wedding style. They can be anything from a natural looking bunch of flowers looking like they have been freshly picked from the garden to a compact structured bouquet of all Roses or Calla Lilies. Hand-tied posies are ideally suited to an elegant, straight style dress as it will not overwhelm. The list of suitable flowers for this type of bouquet is endless, but Roses, Peonies, Calla Lilies and Gerberas are favourite focal flowers. All hand-tied posies are bound together with ribbon which is then pinned into place. They’re also a great design to use for bridesmaids and flower girls, and especially if you intend to throw your bouquet! Bridal hand-tied bouquets start from £50, and bridesmaids’ hand-tied bouquets start from £40, again depending on the flowers used and size.
