Soft and spreading, deciduous shrub has lively looking scented red flowers in Spring. It has green neat maple-like leaves, and has bronze tints autumn colouration.
It likes sun, well drained soil and is happy in acid (ericaceous), alkaline or neutral soil. It is frost hardy.
