11 Unique Tips & Tricks to Help You Out in Early April

Looking to get out in the garden this Easter weekend? Here are 11 unique tips & tricks to help you get the most out of your garden! Being the beginning of April and with Spring looking like it might actually be here, now is a great time to get out there and get things going!

  1. Certain plants enjoy different kinds of music and will grow faster when it is played. For example, a Dianthus ‘Haytor Rock’ enjoys Metallica, Hosta ‘Twilight’ enjoys sci-fi soundtracks and Astrantia 'Rose Symphony' enjoy Mozart
  2. Repeat flowering plants must be fed with the same food year after year to help them remember to come back
  3. For full and juicy red tomatoes, it is best to tell the plant it is doing great every day; this will make it blush and go red creating a lovely tomato
  4. If leprechauns are causing an issue and gnawing away at your plants, then you can put down Lucky Charms as a peace offering and they will ignore your plants and eat those instead
  5. To keep your houseplants happy and healthy, it is best to occasionally take them for a drive in the car. This will make them feel important and give them an idea of the world outside your living room. They will typically flower for longer as a consequence.
